Choose between a group reply and answers for each person
One person can reply for their household or group. You decide whether they give you a total count and shared answers, or name every attendee and answer your questions separately for each person. The right choice depends on what you’ll need to know when preparing for your event.
In the editor’s RSVP form settings, open RSVP & guests settings and choose Simple RSVP or Detailed RSVP:
Swipe sideways to compare the RSVP options.
| Choose | What guests provide | When it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Simple RSVP | The responder’s name, attendance counts and one set of answers for the group. With children allowed, the reply can include adult and child counts. | You need a headcount and one set of answers for each household or group. |
| Detailed RSVP | The name of every attendee, including the primary guest and all plus-ones, and a separate set of custom-question answers for each person. | You need to match meal choices, dietary needs or other arrangements to named guests. |
With Simple RSVP, one person might reply for two adults and two children and tell you that one adult is vegetarian. With Detailed RSVP, they add each attendee by name and answer your questions for each one. Those individual answers remain associated with each person in Page Manager, where you review your invitation’s guests and replies.

In these sample replies, Emma and Lily have separate answers from Detailed RSVP. Daniel’s Simple RSVP records one set of answers for his group.

Choose Detailed RSVP when knowing who needs what matters. Choose Simple RSVP when a group count and group answers will do.
You can share your invitation link through WhatsApp or text and still collect replies through your Simple or Detailed RSVP form. The WhatsApp / text option marked PRO in these settings is a separate response option; you don’t need to select it just to share your invitation link through a messaging app.
Questions you may have
Do I need Detailed RSVP to get each guest’s meal choice?
Yes, choose Detailed RSVP when you need an answer for each named attendee. Add a meal question under Custom questions, select Choice and enter the options. Make it required if every attendee needs to choose. Simple RSVP gives you one set of answers for the group.
What happens to earlier replies if I change the form?
Changing to Detailed RSVP doesn’t turn an earlier Simple RSVP into a list of named attendees. The earlier group response can remain alongside later individual responses in Page Manager. If you edit a custom question after replies arrive, the table uses the latest wording in its heading and shows the originally answered wording in brackets for earlier responses. Choose your mode and questions before sharing where possible, so the answers are easier to compare.
